De Frikandel

With this video, I want to show what goes into the production of a frikandel. Although it is an everyday snack for many people, there is an entire production process behind it that often remains out of sight. I also want to make viewers more aware of the fact that a frikandel actually contains animal-based ingredients. It is therefore not simply a snack that can be mindlessly taken out of the fryer.

To reinforce this idea, the video will have a chaotic and overwhelming atmosphere. The enormous scale at which frikandellen are produced and consumed is an important part of this. In the Netherlands, more than one million frikandellen are produced every day. On a yearly basis, around 500 million are consumed in the Netherlands alone. That works out to almost 30 frikandellen per person per year.

Through the chaotic visual style, I want the viewer to experience just how enormous these numbers really are, while also raising the question: what actually goes into that one frikandel?
